Below we see two examples of how corrupt companies influence our politicians.

POWER Engineers is a company that currently has contracts with CMP/Avangrid/Iberdrola.  POWER Engineers will benefit greatly financially from CMP if the NECEC project is approved.

CMP was successful in influencing the Town Manager and  Select Board of Jay , Maine to reject a citizens petition and deny a town vote on the CMP project.

Will CMP/Avangrid/Iberdrola and companies like Power Engineers be able to "encourage" the Select Boards of other towns (like Pownal?) to side with CMP instead of the town's people?

Talk to your Select Board, and remind them that the Select Board works for the people,

and NOT for CMP.

Will Pownal's Select Board resist the temptation?

Will your Select Board resist the temptation?

In the first email below, we see Jay Town Manager Shiloh LaFreniere thanking Power Engineer's Connie Gemmer's for the instruction on how to properly support CMP's project.  Connie Gemmer tells the Town Manager exactly what to say "The Town of Jay supports Central Maine's clean energy proposal.  We've enjoyed a long working relationship with CMP and have found them to be an excellent neighbor and community partner".

In this second email, we see Jay Town Manager Shiloh LaFreniere receiving more instruction from POWER Engineer's Connie Gemmer on how to help POWER Engineer and CMP.  The person "Elizabeth" that Connie Gemmer mentions is Elizabeth Swain.  Elizabeth Swain is at many town meetings, and is often seen coaching CMP/Avangrid/Iberdrola's Director of Communications John Carroll.  Elizabeth Swain is a resident of Pownal, ME, and may attempt to "assist" the Pownal Select Board.  Pownal residents should contact their Select Board to make sure that they know that they work for Pownal, and not CMP.

Note how Connie Gemmer says "I'm happy to do this as your voices are so important".  Town Manager Shiloh LaFreniere's voice is important to CMP, but not to Jay, ME or the citizens of Jay.
